- Inappropriate physical contact or physical aggression. - Gang involvement; the wearing of gang colours. - Possession of a weapon. - Bullying, harassment and abuse (physical, verbal, psychological, sexual) - Harassment or discrimination based on physical or mental disability, race, creed, colour, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, family status - Extortion - Disturbing the learning of others - Possession, consumption, supplying/selling of alcohol or illicit or non-illicit drugs and/or paraphernalia and/or tobacco products - At school under the influence of alcohol/drugs - Smoking on school grounds or in clear visibility of school - Internet misuse - Theft - Defacing and damaging school property - Graffiti |
- A removal from the situation for period of time (cool off) - Student detention (before school, at noon, or after school) - Restitution - interviews and conferences that may involve students, staff, parents and division personnel - Developing and implementing a behaviour plan or contract that may include counseling, mentoring or mediation - Withdrawal of privileges - Making amends either monetarily or through school-based community service - Suspension: in-school or out-of-school - Required change of locations for studies - Expulsion (involvement of superintendent and Board). |
Other School Rules
- Under Manitoba Education Policy, teachers may suspend a student from their classes for up to two days/classes. - The Principal may suspend for up to five days. - Parents will be advised in all cases of suspension. - During out-of-school suspensions, students may not have access to the building and grounds without prior administrative approval and may not
participate in co-curricular activities. - Some board policies require police involvement as a consequence, and the principals, at their discretion, may involve the police for any incident. - Academic Integrity- plagiarism and cheating are unacceptable and will be dealt with according to Board policy.
